The Sahafa Med seminar, organised on 23 November 2022 in Brussels in the framework of the European Agoras for journalism, brought together fifty media development actors working in the Southern Mediterranean. This seminar provided an opportunity to collectively reflect on the challenges and prospects for supporting independent journalists in this region.
In the framework of the Agoras for journalism in Tours, a half-day follow-up workshop was organised on Friday 31 March 2023 to discuss the proposals and recommendations that will be formulated in the framework of the Sahafa Med needs study that is currently being finalised. Participants from several organisations that support media in the Southern Mediterranean participated in this workshop as well as the national correspondents of the Sahafa Med project.
The discussions helped to refine the recommendations that will be presented in the study.
