After the success of the 1st edition in 2022, Journalisme & Citoyenneté and IHECS are pleased to announce the second edition of the Assises Européennes du Journalisme de Bruxelles.
For three days, on November 20, 21 and 22, 2024, journalists from the 27 countries of the European Union and neighboring countries will gather in Brussels to think about the future of journalism and media education in Europe on the theme:

European Journalism and the challenge of Artificial Intelligence
Highlights of the 2nd edition:
- A tribute to journalists in Gaza and Lebanon: in recognition of their work under catastrophic humanitarian conditions.With the Palestinian Journalists’ Union, Reporters Without Borders and the International Federation of Journalists.
- The European Agora for European newsrooms using A.I : to meet a dozen editorial teams from European countries
- AI at the service of journalism : to learn from newsrooms that have been working with AI since 2020, discuss the tools created and implemented in Europe to facilitate the work of journalists, etc.
- What Ukraine teaches us: disinformation, misinformation, propaganda and the irght to know. What Ukraine teaches journalists covering the conflict, and how to improve the production of information when the battle is also a media one.
- The European Union’s priorities in source protection, media legislation & regulation, the implementation of the DSA and the I.A Act.

The European Agora for Journalism in Brussels is organized by Journalisme & Citoyenneté (J&C) and theIHECS.. J&C also organizes annually the French-speaking Agora for Journalism for the French-speaking world, and the Mediterranean Agora for Journalism.
