A.I., the media, Europe and me: European journalism and the challenge of Artificial Intelligence

This is the theme of the 2nd edition of the European Agora for Journalism to be held from November 20 to 22 in Brussels.

Co-organized by IHECS and Journalisme & Citoyenneté, the event, which is open to the public, will bring together information professionals, journalists, managers, academics, students and teachers from the 27 member states of the European Union, to reflect on the conditions for quality journalism in Europe.

On the agenda for this second edition in Brussels: how are European newsrooms adapting to A.I.? How can they unite and adapt their business models to these changes? What progress has been made in media and information literacy? This 2nd edition will also focus on more general issues, such as the journalistic coverage of war – in Europe and beyond its borders, – climate emergency, migration and the current threats affecting press freedom and journalism in Europe.

When: November 20, 21 and 22, 2024

Where : IHECS, Rue de l’Etuve, 58 – 1000 Brussels

The European Agora for Journalism in Brussels Assises aims to become the major biannual event where news professionals can discuss the challenges they are facing with the general public, academics, the media and the public at large. The European Agora is in continuity with the French Agora for Journalism launched in 2007, and the Tunis Agora for Journalism in 2018, at the initiative of Journalisme & Citoyenneté.
